  Some morning I was taken to the beach with my support worker, who because of being local knew of which beaches had disabled access right the way to the sea even in a specially designed flotation device.

  I have not been in a position to take a holiday abroad for some years now. This is firstly due to my disabilities. However I recently had the opportunity to book a holiday in Tenerife. This was only possible because I found the service of a care company in Tenerife. I contacted HomeCare Abona, based in the south of the island.

  The support worker visited me at my hotel each morning and evening, attending to my personal care needs.Throughout the day I spent time with my family who were staying in the same hotel too. Each evening in preparation for dinner I was helped to shower and wash hair and dress etc.

  If you have ever wondered how can I get help whilst on holiday in Tenerife, or how your family can be provided with respite cover, then don't hesitate. Contact HomeCare Abona. They speak various languages, however my first telephone conversation was with someone English. I was visited beforehand by the care co-coordinator, who discussed all my requirements and endorsed what information had already been given them. At the end of the service I was visited also by the Owner of the company. All in all I had a very positive experience.
